The company announced a direct interface between rapidformXO, its
3D scan data processing software, and Konica-Minolta's Vivid 9i 3D
scanner. The direct interface allows users to scan and build complete
3D models for reverse engineering and inspection in one application.
It is said that by using the software's alignment, merging and
decimation tools, users can take advantage of the scanner's improvement
in measurement accuracy. Polygon meshes, NURBS surfaces and CAD solid
models can be created when the scanner is used in conjunction with
RapidForm2004. CAD comparison tools also enable the user to perform
detailed inspections of parts.
