I hope someone can assist.
I need to determine what my next move should be in terms of patenting, fabricating, and marketing my product. Do I really need to go with a patent attorny or can I safely apply for a provisional patent without one?
I have provided a brief overview below.
I am a disabled motorcycle rider that, due to necessity, invented a device that will permit riders of any vehicle That uses a handlebar to control the machine safely without having to constantly hold on to the handlebars.
My right hand cannot grip the throttle and I had no ability to safely control the bike until I designed and fabricated this device. After fabricating several prototypes I realized that this device is absolutely amazing.
After riding over two hours I realized that my right hand that controls the throttle (and is always the hand that gets tired faster due to constantly squeezing and turning the throttle) was not at all fatigued and my left hand and forearm was very tired.
This made me realize that my product will be used by all riders. In addition my product will permit people with carpal tunnel syndrome or people such as myself with disabilities to ride safely and much more comfortably.
The primary target in terms of marketing this product will be not only disabled riders but for all riders who want an inexpensive means of having a cruise control feature on their vehicle.
My initial business plan will be to market the product at large biker events as well as using Youtube and motorcycle, jet ski, and snowmobile publications.
There are over 2 Million motorcycles globally so the number of potential buyers of my product is endless.
