Does anyone know if there is existing software that can transform 3D medical Sonograph images into rapid prototyping software to make prototypes? For instance, We have working on a project I'm trying to do is this: 3D Sonograph a Traumatized human skull (crushed cheek bone medically known as the Zygomatic Process or bone) use a software program to o reconstruct the cheekbone based on the opposite cheek bone to make a cheek implant.
I work for a facial reconstructive surgeon, and we have a challenged patient, so far the only available technology have been is to use commercially pre-manufactured facial implants, were exhausted at 3 surgical attempts and we feel now that our patient is becoming discouraged and will commit suicide. So we need to find some new hope soon.
